I liked looking at Pieter Brugel's Hunters in the Snow. Your shrink did sound somewhat Freudian and it is interesting that he asked for family photos....was he from Vienna?
Somehow I think you are writing about me! It took 2 psychiatrists and one Psychologist to make me "sane" from my first marriage and even then it took a long time.
