Hi Ann, thanks for getting back to me. Sorry for the slow reply. I enjoy your blog including the recipes. I can't remember just the problem I had getting through to you but it seems to be working now. I look forward to reading whatever you choose to post. I hope your eye is better now.
I understand wishing you new more of your mothers life story; my experience is similar. Rarely the time time was taken to talk about herself until after my dad had passed, and I was grown and out of the house doing my own thing halfway across the country. Same with my dad, only told stories about himself as parable.
Your mother was beautiful. Though I know of Heddy Lamar, I would’ve had to look her up for a likeness. But no need as soon as I saw your mother’s picture. Thanks again for sharing your story. ❤️
I wish I had asked more questions from my mother and grandmother who talked about homesteading in North Dakota after graduating from High School in Iowa in 1905. Wondering how she traveled....perhaps by horseback. Thank you for sharing another glimpse of you.
Reading what you write about your mother brings memories of my own. It is more complicated a relationship than I thought. As I am getting older, I remember more, especially in my dreams. So your memories becomes important to me and others. Thank you.
"Mee-ow! Pass the cream" is the best line I've heard in ages. I may rep daughters!) eat it many times in conversations (especially with my daughters and my non-binary kid). If I use it for a title, I will include you or you mother's name in it. Thank you

It's interesting that in such a global social climate there is this energy for the particular . Our individual particulars .

Ann, Read the love letters ! She could have destroyed them if it was to remain a private matter.
