I wonder if there's a market for such a thing....

As Lord Chesterfield noted about sex, in the 17th century, "The pleasure is momentary, the position ridiculous, and the expense damnable."

Thank you for sharing your story on fly fishing and the wader experience. The thought of drowning with them on is terrifying. I rarely fished as a kid since I grew up in the desert, but I always stayed out of the water on the banks of the stream. Good luck for the new art show!

Interesting coincidence: My parents also married on April Fool’s Day. My father said they did it so he would never forget the date. (They also got engaged on Valentine’s Day and obtained their marriage license on St. Patrick’s Day.)

This recipe sounds delicious but where to get fresh trout in NYC? Fishing in Central Park? I can really relate to trying what your spouse wants to do. My dear husband loved climbing mountains, and convienced me in the first year to climb part of Mt Washington. I hated it, we slept in an old sleeping bag on a rock cliff and of course it rained and I got my period. I couldn't wait to leave. We tried climbing in some national parks a few years later again I was terrified and swore that I would never do it again. But I did climb Mt Monadnock some years later when we were at MacDowell together.

My guess is you could use this recipe with any firm-fleshed filet, like tilapia or salmon, even. I'm going to try it again with trout fillets from my supermarket. I have not made it in years....

My dad made my mother walk across the GW Bridge in the middle of winter, soon after they were married. The things we do for love!
