Ah cars . My ES 1800 1970 Volvo stick shift was purchased by a Swedish car museum at 1989 . My Porsche Cayenne , 2006, automatic , will be twenty soon . MMM
Thanks for sharing this latest adventure. Glad you’re making progress on the memoir, but I was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms. Congrats on getting a new car & liking it! Looking forward to seeing you next week!
I'm not sure when I'll be returning to EMM. I'm about halfway through revisions to Rotten Romance, and finding them more time consuming that I expected. But I think I'm on my way to a better book!
Hah! Love your automotive inventory! I learned to drive when I HAD to (suddenly incapacitation of then-husband), got a friend to drive me to the DMV and passed the test, I know not how. Figured if everyone else can do it, I can. The brave unawareness of youth!
Like your former self, it's easier for me to understand the virtues of the white bean tuna salad than a car--but, as always, I love the way you write. :--)
So nice to have you back...just go easy! Taking someone to help buy a car was essential for me evidently. I really only cared to see if the trunk would easily hold a 36" x 48" painting. My friend, Brian, reminded me that doing a test drive was pretty important too.
Oddly, I didn't even bother to test drive this car. I just liked the way it looked--and boom that was it. That's the reason, I'm sure, that so many of my romances have been failures.
I will have to show you what is meant by a K-turn sometime....I can't possibly describe it. A good thing to give up meat! I'm almost entirely weaned from beef, pork, and lamb.
Nine years ago I bought a gray Subaru Imprezza, the first new car I've ever owned. It has served me well and I hope it will continue to for the rest of my life. I'm 80 now… I'm glad you are happy with your new car! Sarah

Would that I could hang on to a car that long! Yours is lovely.
two thumbs up

I relate to thinking subway, etc, were forever, and then I moved to New Mexico.

A good car is like a comfortable. "home", with privileges.
Ann, What is. "K-turn" ? Would loved to have had that orange Mustang. Got to eat fish now in place of beef, will try the tuna salad recipe.
