Thanks for the conflicts about gifts. I didn't know that other people were as stuck as I was.

You underestimate the writing here. I loved it. I’ve always found the whole gift giving/receiving to be anxiety inducing. Especially if you get something you don’t really want or give a poor choice. Plus spending money you do not have. I’m in currently in VA with my teenage grand daughters and they gave me the best gift. Took the Metro into DC, fabulous lunch at Jose Andre’s iconic casual Oyamel (sublime ceviche verde) and hours perusing the (free)Smithsonian art museums. My gift is dog sitting for the next week while they visit the rich grandparents in CO and go skiing. No shopping whatsoever!

It was enjoyable reading and touched some sensitive topics.

The cauliflower dish looks inviting. Thank you for the recipe!

Yummy recipe

and Tis the season to be overwhelmed by all this crazy overdone gift giving—it’s bound to create disappointment on the receiving end especially if you’re a stepmom and artist with not a huge cash flow competing against a mom with plenty —-as well as the giving end— is it enough?? The unexpected surprises or kind words are always the best!

I have to try this recipe. So far, I have struggled to get roasted cauliflower into anything good enough to enjoy eating. :-)

Feel free to clutter my in box. Can't possibly compete with my house. Hey, it's that time of year where we wish it was spring. I had to take a double look at the gift of an aluminum double boiler when I first thought I read an aluminum double ladder. You know the kind that folds. They both hint at tasks you are expected to do.

I love the 'everybody can relate' to this piece...not ragged at all...we've all been there! Happy Christmas, Ann! xo
